Morning Smoothie Recipe
Hello from Hilts DPC!
Many of our patients are making dietary changes and are reaping the benefits of their efforts. Since many of you ask what we eat, we thought we would do a few weekly emails on what we eat, along with recipes.
We'll start with breakfast. This is a daily breakfast, but it tastes more like a treat!
We searched long and hard for a clean, non-GMO, grass-fed beef protein powder that actually tastes good. (Let us know if you would like more info on Ultimate Paleo Protein powder, as we do carry it in the office at a discounted cost for members, which is less than you can find it online. (We carry the 810g container, which is 30 servings. Most places onlineonly sell the smaller container with 15 servings.)
Ultimate Paleo Protein is gluten- and dairy-free with 22 grams of protein per serving and also includes gut-healing L-Glutamine and probiotics. But mostly, we like the taste!
Recipe for Morning Smoothie
*4 oz. of unsweetened coconut milk (I do 2 oz of canned and 2 oz of carton. The canned has more fat and makes it richer.)
*1/4 avocado (This sounds weird, but you don't taste it, and it gives your smoothie a super creamy texture. It also adds fiber and healthy fat.)
* 2 scoops of Chocolate Ultimate Paleo Protein Powder
* 1 scoop of Ultimate Collagen Peptides (This adds extra protein and is great for your gut, skin, and hair. We carry this in the office as well.)
*1 full cup of ice cubes
*Optional*
* Top with 1-2 Tbsp of ground Flax seeds (for extra fiber and texture)
Put everything in the blender and blend until smooth. Top with ground flaxseed if you like! Enjoy!
