Another Benefit of Hilts DPC Membership: Generic Rx Savings

Another Benefit of Hilts DPC Membership:  Generic Rx Savings

Many of you already take advantage of this, but one of the benefits of your DPC membership is discounted generic prescriptions.  I have a North Carolina dispensing license which allows me to provide generic medications to my patients who need them.  The savings can be quite substantial. In most cases, they are even cheaper than the medications on the Walmart $4 list and GoodRx.

Here are just a few examples:

                        Walmart Hilts DPC

Metformin (diabetes drug) 500 mg tablets:  $10 (90 days) $2.87 (90 days)

Lisinopril (hypertension) 10 mg tablets:         $10 (90 days) $1.83 (90 days)

Amlodipine (hypertension) 5 mg tablets:         $24 (90 days) $1.42 (90 days)

Fluoxetine (depression) 20 mg tablets:         $10 (90 days) $1.76 (90 days)

Omeprazone (acid reflux) 20 mg tabs:         $38 (90 days) $3.73 (90 days)

Levothyroxine (thyroid) 50 mcg tabs: $10 (90 days) $2.42 (90 days)

                        GoodRx Hilts DPC

Sildenafil (generic Viagra) 100 mg: $18.09 (30 pills) $3.30 (30 pills)

Tadalafil (generic Cialis) 20 mg:         $17.03 (30 pills) $3.30 (30 pills)

Also OTC meds:                 Walgreens Brand Hilts DPC

Fluticasone Propionate (generic Flonase nasal): $22.99 (144 sprays) $6.05 (120 sprays)

Levocetirizine (generic Xyzal):         $39.99 (120 pills) $2.64 (120 pills)

I try to keep some commonly used medications in stock such as some antibiotics, steroid packs, etc., so that when you're sick and feeling poorly you can leave with prescription in hand and avoid another stop at the pharmacy.  For other medications I can easily order and have them shipped in a few days when needed.  So if you are taking prescription medications (or even OTC) long-term, it might not hurt to ask me for pricing from my suppliers to see if I can save you money.

Keep in mind, the above is for generic medications.  Typically the brand-name medications are not any cheaper through my suppliers.

In-house dispensing is just one of the many ways we try to lower the cost of your health care and fix the broken system.
